This sweet flower mat has a diameter of 10 3/4" when completed. Hexagon flowers combined with some embroidery and wool flowers are very lovely on this project.

What you need
12” square cream tonal, background
7 coordinating cotton prints, hexagons
Mauve wool, applique flowers
Purple wool, applique flower centers
Green wool, applique leaves
Fat Quarter green print, binding and backing
42 x ½” hexagon papers, I used water soluble ones but traditional paper would be fine
Lightweight fusible batting
Fusible web such as Soft Fuse or Vliesofix
Embroidery threads, I used Valdani 6- ply #154 antique gold, H212 faded brown and #0575 crispy leaf
Fine tipped fabric marking pen
